2D / 3D CAD-CAM Course
Target Students
- Footwear technicians that wish to learn how to better take advantage of CAD systems with the support of Ars Sutoria experienced pattern making teachers
- Footwear companies that are willing to invest in CAD systems and need to better understand if and how those systems can fit their requirements
Training Program
- 2D design of all patterns including cutting and sewing details (e.g. margins and notches)
- nesting of the pattern obtained on cardboard and writing descriptions
- exporting file for cutting in cardboard and leather, pattern plotter cutting
- 2D design of the flattened shell using scanner and/or tablet
- pattern making from the digitised shell
- 3D import of a digitised last, technical flattening of the surfaces
- 3D design of the entire shoe, styling render of the 3D model

Ars Sutoria school has different market leading CAD systems available for footwear and leather goods design and pattern making. The CAD system used during the course will be agreed with the teachers based on the requirements of the participants.
Consultancies and customised courses are organised for individual companies and organisations.
In this case training program is studied together with the Ars Sutoria teachers and it is usually completely based on the customer lasts and styles. - Duration and training program is tuned accordingly to the participants needs. Further sessions can be organised for individual companies or for at least groups of three participants.
