Shoe Future Project

Main problem that project will solve is a lack of quality education programs in leather
and footwear sector in Slovenia. Project is targeted to develop competence of specific
expert profiles which provide added value knowledge in the process of product
development and manufacturing.

There are no formal education activities on secondary
and tertiary level in Slovenia, because regular programs were cancelled in year 2000.
However, leather and footwear sector in Slovenia is one of the most significant
traditional sectors in Slovenia.

Industry has reached the point, where old generation is getting retired and new
generation of young people is coming to replace them. Therefore; the project will focus
to develop knowledge and competence of the following crucial target groups:

  • footwear technologist
  • shoe designer
  • last developer
  • soles developer
  • CAD expert for shoe modelling
  • quality manager

SHOE FUTURE represents continuation and up-grade of education activities started with
E-SHOE LEARNING. We believe that only with consistent continuation of education
activities that can be provided with international experts, an efficient breakthrough on
crucial area of education in Slovenia can be made.

Development and manufacturing processes for leather and footwear product are
managed and performed by a chain of experts, each adding his/her added value
contribution. The more educated are the process members, the more quality is the final
product. As leather and footwear companies are forced to produce products with high
added value, this immediately causes the need for more educated employees of various
profiles.

To bridge this gap contemporary specialized knowledge will be transferred to Slovenia.
This will at the same time fulfill 2 priorities: increase the quality and attractiveness of
VET system in the industry and educate expert profiles to for the needs of business
processes .

PROJECT RESULTS:
During project the following results will be prepared and delivered to the target group:

  1. In-depth analysis of education need
